Originally, Federation civilian; grew up on the Bajoran frontier. Earned degree in propulsion engineering at Federation Institute of Technology, 2359. Employed as commercial engineering supervisor at Firimar III Starport, 2360-65. Hired as assistant chief engineer, merchant freighter SS Gryphon, 2365. In 2366, promoted to chief engineer. Joined Maquis resistance movement in 2369 after wife was raped and murdered by Cardassians.
Served under Chakotay (see file) as assistant engineer on Maquis ship which was lost in the Badlands in 2371. This ship was being sought by the U.S.S. Voyager when the Voyager lost contact with Starfleet on stardate 48307.5. Since recent re-establishment of contact with Voyager, it has been learned that the Maquis personnel have been integrated with the surviving Voyager crew in the Delta Quadrant.
Recruited into service on Voyager as auxiliary enlisted crewman, serving in engineering. Initial service reports unsatisfactory: "aggressive, does not respect chain of command." Tampered with ship's systems to increase a friend's replicator rations. Missed three of ten duty shifts. Made unauthorized replacement of faulty bio-neural gel pack that disrupted ship's operations.
Entered Starfleet field training program led by Voyager security chief Tuvok, stardate 48846. Successfully completed training. No further infractions reported. Currently serving on Voyager in engineering.
